Kate Stites is our Office Administrator. Kate started as our Bookkeeper November 2018, then took over as Office Administrator the following June. After working as an IT Manager at Cargill for 21 years, Kate was looking for a change and was excited about the challenges of working in a small and dynamic law office.
Kate keeps things runnings smoothly at Lord + Heinlein. Her responsibilities include client intake interviews, processing client invoices, and handling a variety of tasks for personal injury and professional license defense cases. When asked what she likes best about her 'second career', Kate said: 'I absolutely love working for such passionate women. It was clear from me on day one that this is more than a job for Priscilla and Melissa. They love what they do and thrive on helping our clients get the best outcome possible, whether that be for some type of personal injury or issues with their professional licensing board. And as a native Minnesotan, I am proud to work at a firm that is the legacy of Miles Lord!'
Outside of work Kate is involved in a variety of organizations. She is a member of Moms Demand Action (MDA), a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. She has recently switched her focus in MDA from working with gun violence survivors to legislative efforts. In this capacity Kate will be working with candidates who wish to be awarded with Gunsense Distinction leading up to the 2022 election. This enables voters to know which candidates will stand up for gun safety if elected to office. Kate also serves on the board of the Edina Volleyball Association and is Treasurer of her Philanthropic Educational Organization chapter.
In her spare time Kate enjoys gardening, reading, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with her husband, 3 children, and soon to be daughter-in-law.
