What will happen to the dog or animal that attacked me?
This decision will be made by the local animal control authorities. The animal may be taken in for observation or testing. If there is no proof the animal has been vaccinated against rabies, the animal may be euthanized and autopsied to determine if it was rabid. If the animal has attacked previously, it is possible that it will be deemed a danger to the public, which may lead to a muzzle requirement or euthanasia.
